  • Unable to see similarities and differences in words.

  • Reads and rereads with little comprehension.

  • Confused by letters, numbers, words, sequences, or verbal explanations.

  • Zoning out or "daydreaming" often and losing track of time.

  • Has difficulty sustaining attention.

  • Learns best through hands-on experience, demonstrations, experimentation, observation, and visual aids.

"In January 2015, Jaymie started to work with our youngest child,  because we were seeing discrepancies and gaps with his reading.  Jaymie continued to move him forward with his reading and even though we were seeing progress, we were still plagued with many of the original reading gaps.  In September 2016, Jaymie brought up a suggestion that she would like to start my son on the Susan Barton Reading Program – which basically takes the reader back to the basic skills of reading.  This program has been a wonderful tool and resource for Jaymie to administer, as it has completely demystified the complexities of learning to read for him.  I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the attentiveness that Jaymie delivers with each of her sessions with our son – if she senses he is losing interest or attention, she comes with a clever way to re-focus and re-energize him to finish out the tutoring session. Jaymie and her talent have been a critical and paramount part of our child's success in learning to read!"
